‘ We saw more than 20 venues but Winters Barns stood out’
We began our search with a list in mind: we wanted a venue that offered the ceremony and wedding breakfast at the same venue, on site accommodation was preferred, and package deals including catering as opposed to dry hire venues.
Winters Barns immediately stood out to us. We were blown away by how stunning it was. It offers beautifully distinct spaces for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception, along with on site accommodation. The setting throughout the venue is stunning and truly speaks for itself. We also loved the Winters team who showed us round, they offered lots of suggestions for our day based on previous weddings and they made us feel like no question was too big of an ask.
‘ The venue is so beautiful it didn’ t need much decorating’
We kept our décor simple and in keeping with the forest green bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen tartan. All You Need Wedding Styling helped us create a mood board and brought every idea to life. We had a green and white colour scheme, with table runners and florals in matching tones. Winters Barns is so beautiful that it needed very few additional touches to still look brilliant from all angles.
‘ We added lots of personal touches’
Lizzie at Winters Barns helped us with some ideas for personal touches at our final details meeting, such as including a tree of life guest book where guests signed a leaf each – now a lovely keepsake in our home. We also included a pic’ n’ mix stand featuring his and hers favourite sweets and chocolates, which was a big hit. For the evening, personalised fans and sunglasses added a fun touch for both the bridal party and guests, especially on the dancefloor.
