� Types of tourism:
o Waterside tourism. (Beach holidays, sailing and water sports, spa
holidays)
o Mountain tourism. (Skiing, adventure activities such as mountain
climbing, canyoning, hiking...)
o Rural tourism. (Country museums, relaxation, purchase natural o
artisanal products)
o Other forms of tourism: cultural tourism, business tourism,
religious tourism to holy sites such as Mecca, Rome, Santiago de
Compostela and Jerusalem.
3. Commercial activities.
� Trade is the sale and purchase of merchandise and services between
producers and consumers in exchange for payment. Its aim is to meet
the population’s needs.
� The elements involved in trade are the following:
o Supply and demand. The sellers who supply goods or services, and the buyers
who are interested in acquiring them.
o Merchandise, or the goods and services traded for payment.
o Payment for the merchandise acquired. In the past, bartering was used.
