English LK12 Gim Cultural and ethnic diversity. ROLE PLAY POLITICAL PARTIES
WE ARE THE FUTURE
- You are the members of a new German/European political party. You want to
improve your country’s cultural and ethnic integration issues.
- Decide which measures should be taken and or which policies should be changed /
improved.
- Which issues/problems does Germany have concerning the integration of other
minorities/cultures? Name as many as you can or know.
- Take into account aspects such as assimilation, multiculturalism and interculturalism
among others.
- Think of the different spheres of life where a higher degree of integration should be
needed for example housing or education, to mention a few.
- If you run out of ideas take a look at your vocabulary tests/lists, your mind maps on
What can we learn from other cultures and What can other cultures learn from us, as
well as at the excerpt from Interculturalism by Michael Emerson and the different
cases presented in his paper.
- To create your policies remember:

- Your policies should take into account infrastructure, the societal concept of give and
take and, if possible, it should be applicable to different fields (multipurpose/inclusive
policies).
- Present your results to the other political parties. For your presentation:
- Choose an appealing name for your political party.
- - Research on different models of integration used in different
countries.
- A clear and visual power point presentation will be necessary
to convince the other political parties.
- Use statistics/graphics and pictures to illustrate and back up
the statements in your presentation.
- Each member of the party must present one policy.
