Crime Project
There’s just been a robbery in a shop. The police are already at the crime
scene and are talking to the shop owner/shop assistant and a witness. They
also have a suspect in custody.
Work in groups:
1. Describe what happened. Write about when and where the robbery
took place, who was in the shop at the time of the robbery, what was
stolen and why the suspect was arrested. (about 80 words)
2. Write the interview between a police officer and a witness. The
police officer wants to know where the witness was when the robbery
took place and what he/she saw. (at least four questions and they can’t
be yes/no questions)
3. Now, draw and colour a graphic stripe. It must have four vignettes:
- Vignette 1: the robbery.
- Vignette 2: the police arrival.
- Vignette 3: Interview with a witness.
- Vignette 4: The arrest of the suspect.
Format: A4.
Each vignette has to include a short narrative text describing the
situation, on the top or the bottom of the vignette, and a couple of bubbles
with the characters’ dialogue.
You have to hand out:
- The description of the robbery on a sheet.
- The interview of the witness by the police officer on a
sheet.
- The graphic strip.
