GHS (1st edition) is currently implemented by a number
of standards

Effective 1 August 2014, a revised version of the
labelling standard will go into effect. It implements the
4th edition of GHS
•
The decree adopting this standard states that the
use of the standard’s provisions is voluntary
rather than mandatory.
•
The use of the standard is only mandatory if any
regulatory instrument, such as a Technical
Regulation, prescribes the compulsory use of the
standard.

•

Draft Technical Regulation (TR) “On the safety of
chemical products” would make compulsory the use of
the labelling and the MSDS standards.

•

Draft TR is similar to the CLP regulations
