New Programs & Courses
Bachelor of Arts,
Integrated Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies allows students to design
their own degree for their own careers. This innovative degree provides
educational opportunities not available through traditional programs.
Working with a faculty advisor, students construct a liberal arts degree
program to fit their interests. It’s a great option for students with multiple
passions.
Cyber Crime Certificate
Upon completing the Certificate in Cyber Crime, students will be able to
analyze cyber deviance and cybercrime activities from both sociological and
criminological perspectives.
The courses students take as part of this certificate will prepare them to
assess the role of law enforcement in cyber privacy and the investigation,
prosecution, and prevention of cyber crime worldwide.
The certificate consists of 18 credit hours, with 15 of these being
required courses, in addition to a 3-hour elective.
Master of Arts,
Intelligence and Security Studies Music Industry courses
The Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies (MAISS) is
designed to provide students with a practical and theoretical understanding
of current and future security challenges facing our nation.
The program seeks to expose military members, future decision makers
and analysts, and students considering a Ph.D. to the security challenges
inherent in a rapidly changing world. Our program has a special emphasis
on the causes and effects of interstate and intrastate conflict, the sources of
terrorism, terrorism and counterterrorism strategies, and security issues
that affect national, regional, and global security. The new music industry courses present the career opportunities that are
available within the industry, and the knowledge needed to achieve those
goals and secure a job.
These courses are taught by April Brumfield, manager, agent and
consultant for some of the most renowned artists in classical and jazz
music, including Augusta University’s very own Wycliffe Gordon.
The courses offered during the Fall 2018 semester included Introduction
to the Music Industry and Careers in the Music Industry. Concert Touring
and Booking Management will be offered in the Spring 2019 semester.
