Global energy recruitment firm moves to new Wear HQ
A global energy recruitment business has opened a new North- East head office in the Wear region after a year of solid growth .
AEPartners , which employs more than 200 people across its nine offices in the US , UK , Canada and Australia and boasts an annual group turnover of over £ 80m , has moved into new , larger offices at the North East BIC in Sunderland . Founded in 2018 by CEO , Michael Grayson , the company started life in the North-East before expanding rapidly across the US with the opening of a series of offices in Houston , Delaware , Midland and Boston .

An exciting new creative agency is harnessing University of Sunderland student talent to supercharge the comms output of businesses across the Wear region .

Sunderland Creatives Agency is a student-led business set up by the University of Sunderland in partnership with Creo Comms , a Sunderland-based communications consultancy that is overseeing students ’ work and providing authentic work experience .
The agency offers creative services to businesses across the region , supporting everything from brand development , design and videography to social media management , public relations and podcast content .
Delivered by a gifted roster of students , the agency not only provides those at the start of their careers with valuable , paid work experience , but offers affordable creative services to businesses , with the confidence that the work has been checked and sometimes guided by industry professionals .

The owners of a Michelin Guide restaurant have been unveiled as the first occupiers of Sunderland ’ s hotly anticipated new leisure venue Sheepfolds .
John and Kimberley Calton , who run Newcastle ’ s Route – a casual bistro that has a coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand and serves up seasonal plates and wines – have announced plans to open a new restaurant called Zinc .
Set within a custom building at Sunderland ’ s Sheepfolds , Zinc will be

Students who sign up get the opportunity to experience agency life and work from the Creo Comms offices on Foyle Street , alongside Sunderland Creatives Agency officer and University of Sunderland graduate Adam Low , to help with the smooth running of the agency and build client relationships .
Louise Bradford , managing director of Creo Comms , who also studied at Sunderland and was an academic tutor at the university before launching her own business in 2014 , said : “ It ’ s brilliant to be able to support students to gain experience and build their confidence , while also helping businesses to develop really polished content and materials .”
