Capital investment leaves manufacturer beaming
Contract – Durham-based Esh Group is working on a £ 16.5m project in Yorkshire .
A County Durham business is hoping to establish itself as a leading light in the world of manufacturing , as it continues to invest in the region and increase its global footprint .
Artech Lighting , based on the outskirts of Durham city , has invested in a Ultimaker S5 Pro 3D printer as it looks to bring the production of many of its lighting components back to the region , creating a number of new jobs in the process .
The purchase of the 3D printer was supported by matched-grant funding from the ERDF-backed £ 10.9m Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing ( SAM ) Project led by the University of Sunderland .

FIRM NETS PROPERTY LICENCE
Local property search provider , X-Press Legal Services Durham , has recently been awarded a National Land Information Service ( NLIS ) channel licence .
The accreditation is a government approved and regulated , electronic land and property searches portal , the only one of its kind in the property searches market .
The new license gives the company , run by Andrew and Louise Gallagher , direct access to authoritative conveyancing search data , direct from every local authority in England and Wales , the Coal Authority and HM Land Registry .

Durham construction firm works on £ 16.5m project
Senior representatives from a Durham firm visited the site of a £ 16.5m regeneration programme ongoing in Halifax .
A key milestone has been marked in the regeneration of Beech Hill as the first new affordable homes have reached roof height .
Representatives from Esh Construction , Together Housing Group , Calderdale Council and Homes England met on site to see the latest progress on the scheme which will create 106 new homes .
A variety of different sized homes are being constructed , ranging from twobedroom to five bedrooms , with all properties available for affordable rent .
The new neighbourhood will feature public open space and landscaping , as well as a cycle route and parking facilities .
Construction work has been ongoing in the Beech Hill area since 2018 , where the demolition of three derelict high-rise blocks , a former council depot and retail units prepared the site for redevelopment .

Durham Cricket commissioned North- East building services firm John N Dunn Group to install dual 22Kw Rolec Quantum EV Charge points opposite the entrance to the Riverside in Chester-le-Street , as part of its work towards improving the sustainability of every aspect of its operations .

Esh Construction was appointed to deliver the new build homes on behalf of Together Housing Group and started work late in 2020 .
The development is part of the Calderdale Together Housing Investment Partnership ( CTHIP ).
The partnership between Together Housing Group and Calderdale Council was established to jointly deliver up to 650 affordable homes across Calderdale over five years from 2018-23 .
The Beech Hill project received £ 2.197m from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership ( LEP ), delivered in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority , through the Leeds City Region Growth Deal – a £ 1 billion package of Government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region . Further funding was provided by Homes England , Calderdale Council and Together Housing Group .
