WEAR BUSINESS ISSUE 9 HIGHLIGHTS
Welcome
12 Breaking the taboo
FOREWORD
By Rob Lawson
Welcome to the latest edition of Wear Business .
In our last edition we highlighted many of the fantastic new developments in Sunderland , including a new £ 25m Culture House and a 10,000-seater arena planned for the heart of the city .
This edition turns the spotlight on what is happening in Durham , and in particular the work Business Durham is doing to provide offices and workspaces for new and existing businesses .
Our interview with Business Durham MD Sarah Slaven lists the new phases of various business parks across the county . Sarah also talks about specific sectors that are growing and thriving in Durham – including space ! – and the hard work going on to ensure there ’ s a talent pipeline to fill the new jobs being created .
Elsewhere in this issue we hear from businesses finding a degree of normality after two years of Covid challenges . For some , the ‘ new normal ’ looks and feels different to what they were used to before March 2020 ; for others , it is , quite literally business as usual .
As a magazine who ’ d only just published our first edition before Covid struck and the first lockdown began , we are only too aware of the real challenges so many of you have faced .
We have survived and thrived – and are delighted to bring you news of so many other businesses that have done likewise , emerging stronger than ever after the biggest business challenge most of us have ever known .
If your journey of recovery is continuing , or if you have ‘ never known it so good ’ we ’ d love to share your success stories so do get in touch !
Thanks for taking the time to read Wear Business and I hope to hear from you .
