A
national training provider based in Spennymoor has announced its annual charity ball to raise money for people in need across the North-East .
Learning Curve Group ( LCG ) will hold A Night in Hollywood on October 28 at Hardwick Hall Hotel . Funds raised will support the LCG Charity Foundation in partnership with County Durham Community Foundation .
LCG set up its Charity Foundation in 2019 to help increase skills , decrease unemployment and fight poverty . Since the foundation began , the training provider has raised more than £ 75,000 , including match funding from County Durham Community Foundation , to support organisations and individuals across the region .
This year ’ s ball will be a night of glitz and glamour , focused around raising as much money as possible for those in need .
Brenda McLeish OBE , CEO of LCG , said : “ I am extremely excited to announce the date and theme of our 2022 charity ball . This is always one of the events in the year I look forward to most as we get to play our part as a large employer and give back to our community .
“ Charity is rooted deeply in our values at Learning Curve Group , and I am very proud of the fundraising that our Purple People do all year round to raise money for our LCG Charity Foundation . I look forward to welcoming some familiar and new faces to LCG ’ s A Night in Hollywood .”
LCG partnered with County Durham Community Foundation so they could support several organisations each year . Previously the large employer would choose just one charity to support each year .
Foundation chief executive Michelle Cooper said : “ Learning Curve Group has found a way to make fundraising really fun for their staff teams , and to bring everyone together . At the same time , they are raising money for groups that make an incredible difference to people ’ s lives , often when there ’ s no-one else to turn to . These small charities are doing such life-changing and life-saving work .”
So far in 2022 , the training provider has over £ 25,000 to distribute and is currently taking applications for funds through the LCG website .
Last year , LCG hosted a charity barn dance with more than 180 guests , which raised £ 13,000 for the foundation . This money went towards supporting organisations such as The Learning Library , The Cornforth Partnership and Lifeline Community Action – charities which often miss out on receiving large donations , so LCG wanted a way to be able to support them .
This year , LCG aims to beat that grand total and transform the lives of even more people .
