WE THE PEOPLE The Robert H. Smith Center for The Constitution: Shaping the future Emerging Millennial Leaders Explore the Future of Policymaking James Madison didn’t wait for an invitation to lead. He was drawn to drafting public policy— and crafting the coalitions necessary to bring policy to life—because he was inspired to improve society and move our nation forward. The Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution recently launched the Montpelier Summits, a series of events designed to rekindle and 14 reinvigorate nonpartisan, principled discussion and debate about the process of formulating and enacting policy. Created in partnership with The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the goal is to engage emerging leaders on the grounds of Montpelier, creating lasting bonds that can be called on for years to come.
