a large group of Italian researchers gathered under
the auspices of the Italian
Consul General of Italy Elena Sgarbi and COM.IT.ES
Houston (the Committee

for the 11th Conference

the achievements of Italians living in the Houston
consular district (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma
and Texas). Originally including only the sciences,
through the years the conference has grown, and in
this 11th edition, thanks to
the symposium “Percorsi
Migratori: Italy from Land
of Departure to Point of
Arrival (Causes, Effect, and
Problems of a Global Phenomenon)”, it stimulated
the participation of many
high profile researchers
ranging from the Social
Sciences to the Humanities. They came not only
from the United States but
also from Italy and other
parts of the world. Organizers of the conference
were Drs. Andrea Duchini
