2017 president elect of WE United, Julie Alonzo, teaches a class on Working Equitation in the Von Holten Wedding Barn. Julie flew in to the event from her home state of Oregon. The classroom portion of Julie's instruction was followed by two days of arena work. The group participants learned all the basics of a working equitation competition, obstacles, what judges are looking for, etiquettes, and a number of maneuvers performed during working equitation. Working Equitation is growing rapidly across the United States as well as in Canada, with particularly strong growth in recent years in the western half of the continent. We hope to see this group of participants help the sport continue to grow in the midwest.
