always be a timeless commodity, at least since c.1925. “All the boys would race,” this little lady explained to me with a glimmer in her eye while recalling her horseback adventures. “Of course I loved to race. I didn’t weigh much, less than I do now.”

Every once in a while you hear about a horse story that just needs retelling. This is the story of a young girl and the horse that carried her to and from school every day, sparking a lasting lifetime bond. In this case maybe lasting two lifetimes because this gal is 104. Regardless, the power of that bond is something all of us have experienced. Can you imagine kids today riding their horses to school? Anyway, I made a point to hear it first hand. Ellen wasn’t able to give me every detail, but just enough so I could imagine the rest. Here goes:
