“We are building a country store this

year to sell branded merchandise and

horse related products. We currently set

up a table during our events to sell

merchandise.”

This incredible facility boasts 26

obstacles and by the end of June will

have 40 for all different types of

challenges. They offer 21 stalls for long

term or short term board such as training

horses coming in for a few months. They

are listed on the registry for layovers for

people traveling in and out of Canada.

Barbara, owner of Salmon River Horse

Park, purchased a 6 month old paint filly

to raise and show one year and given

her natural born love of horses, went on

to show locally and in the paint circuit

for many years. She fell in love with

breeding and raising foals after she bred

her show mare. They purchased 6 brood

mares and partnered with a breeding

farm to breed, raise and sell paint/

uarter horses before moving to NYS.

They eventually purchased their own

QH Stallion, producing numerous

Hunter Jumpers and eventually started

breeding Warm Bloods. They have

raised over 100 foals for the show world

over the span of 25 years. Their stallion

is retired now and they no longer breed

but continue to show and train various

breeds of horses.

the heart of Upstate New York, 45

minutes North of Syracuse, NY and

about 1 hour from the Canadian border,

conveniently located 15 minutes off the

I-81 and 40 minutes north of the NYS

Thruway. This beautiful, privately

owned facility consists of 280 acres,

numerous paddocks and pastures. They

have a newly built 72 x 165 indoor sand

arena, brand new 120 x 280 outdoor

arena, round pen, and a 2 acre Mountain

Trail course. They are unique to the

North East having and hosting the only

Mountain Trail course and challenges in

the area.

The course is less than a year old and

will be expanded this summer, adding

more obstacles and a judges’ stand. The

park is adding a food court. If you wish

to stay overnight, there is tent camping

and they allow portable paddocks for

those wishing to have their horses with

them at their camp site. There is a porta

potty for guests and fresh water for

horses via a 250 gallon water tank filled

with spring water. If you prefer to be

indoors, Tailwater Lodge is very close by.
