When asked what attracted Barbara to Extreme Trail Horse Association, her response was “I love the fact that it is promoting recreation trail and horseback riding. Many people are not showing regionally any longer due to the high costs of showing and bringing the recreational rider back under saddle with parks to ride at is what I want to offer in our community. “

Salmon River will be hosting NEMTC Mountain Trail Challenges and ECRRA Ranch Riding once a month. They also hold numerous mountain trail clinics along with outside clinicians such as Liberty Clinics, Natural Horsemanship Clinics and Ranch Riding Clinic. They are open to any ideas that the general public has regarding horses.

If you and your horse need to take a break, there is plenty to see and do within the area. They are located 5 minutes from the New York State Salmon River Fish Hatchery where the Salmon come home to spawn. The property boarders the Salmon River - a huge fishing creek known all over the world for Salmon fishing. They are also 30 minutes from Lake Ontario where fishing guides will take you on a chartered fishing expedition. They are located 1 hour within the Finger Lakes, Old Forge, Alexandria Bay, Cooperstown Hall of Fame, Corning Glass Works, Howe Caverns, just to name a few.

Salmon River Horse Park is scheduled to have an Open House in July. Please check ETHA website at www.extremetrailhorseassociation.com for confirmed dates.
