Her last moments alive were spent getting her feet handled by me as she munched happily on green, Florida grass. Krystal and I admired how calm she was and we talked about finding her a forever home. I said, "She's ready".

God works in mysterious ways. She was gone in a minute from a brain aneurism. As Krystal and I crouched down beside her, I asked out loud, "Mia, what do I need to learn from you?". Reflecting, I believe she wanted me to know that she could help other unwanted, frightened little ponies through me. I could be her voice by telling her story.

Mia's legacy lives on.

Epitaph

A very difficult day, indeed. Although I only knew Mia for 18 days, she stole a piece of my heart the moment I placed my hand on her visibly trembling neck. She learned to trust me. She enjoyed a snuggle. The imprint of the hammer on her forehead brought tears to my eyes as she looked into them. Mia sacrificed herself to help our mission to educate people. These souls, who suffer in silence, have a voice. I, for one, will be a translator as long as I breathe. RIP sweet girl.
