There were dues to pay, years of struggling and giving away my time or working for next to nothing. A lot of broken bones, hospital visits and often wondering how I’d feed myself, sacrificing everything, all in the name of following a dream. This pursuit included schooling…a lot of it, seeking out or creating opportunities to learn Horsemanship from the biggest and most talented names in the business. I was blessed to have been hired by numerous clients over the years, who recognized my gift and were inspired to help push me through.
Along the way, often the question would arise, what was my favorite breed? As this profession has brought me to work with a multitude of different breeds from around the world, I felt it was important, to remain non-biased, making myself as valuable as possibly to every client and every horse who came my way. Invariably, the one breed which stole my heart and ignited my imagination was the Friesian. Secretly I swore, one day, there would be one or more in my life.
