Now I use the term “Turkish Arabian” because most every horse I saw was either a full blood or at the very least a mix of the various types of Arabs. It was impossible to tell which lines they were drawn from, but they were all quite distinct.

Our team, “The Eastern Contingent” is a mounted and ground archery chapter of the Mounted Archery Association of the Americas,located in Texas; for this particular trip – along with Robert “The Hun” Morton and Jennifer Larsen, we had two newcomers. Gilbert “Thunder” Gomez and Rebecca Stacey, both representing native nations (Apache and Cherokee, respectively). We practiced and rode in traditional costume (Turkish garb for Rob and Jennifer and Native garb for Gil and Rebecca) for the day, and the locals got a huge kick out of it.
