Spencer West was born with a spine deformity that led to his legs being cut off. During Highschool he was an actor and a cheerleader. Spencer was bullied because of his appearance and for being a cheerleader. His Motto is "There is no cant's only hows" This means that anything is possible and there is a way to achieve it.
Spencer started to become inspired when he visited Kenya and saw dried fields of what used to be healthy green fields of crops. For this he wanted to raise awareness and funds. This is when his friend suggested climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. In 2000, West was injured and could not walk with his hands for 2 months. Spencer still practised hard and trained day after day to ensure that he can climb this mountain. Spencer has set amazing records for himself considering his condition. When he was ready he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with 2 friends named David and Alex. After this West has helped over 18 500 people with donations which beat his, set goal of $500 000. Instead he got $750 000. Spencer has helped build schools in Kenya.
