ASHLEY MURPHY

Coming from Ajax, Ontario, Ashley Murphy is a generous and captivating public motivational speaker. As she was just 16 years old, life was hard for her as she was in the hospital, being born with HIV positive, later diagnosed with AIDS. Life for her was hard. But she happily found a great family who’s there for her. She was put in a foster home along with nine step siblings who also go through the same journey with her special needs.

To the day she became a public speaker, at just the age of ten, she started talking about her personal condition. Ashley Murphy has spoken in many We Day events across Canada, sharing the event along with other leaders such as Queen Noor of Jordan, Martin Luther King |||, and Magic Johnson. With Ashley's passion of being a leading difference maker by sharing her stories, she has motivated others who are also struggling with AIDS and HIV.

After that trip, though, she was inspired to raise funds to build schools through Free The Children. Till today, she is sixteen and loves music, acting, singing, and decorating her room with pictures of the Eiffel Tower. She believes that all of us can overcome our big challenges, and use them to help others. A fun fact about her journey becoming a role model, she travelled to Kenya for a Me to We trip, where she then met two young girls, Naomi and Faith-who sadly also have HIV.
