The difference in these two scenarios is frightening. It is so difficult for
someone who lives in a minority world country to even imagine what it
would be like to be living in a developing country. In my 16 years, I have
grown up with clean drinking water, a surplus of food, a sturdy house,
electricity, and an education. Surrounding me are people with modern
vehicles, steady jobs, access to medical care, along with all their necessities
met. For us, it is easy to slip into the mindset that we are entitled to these
luxuries as human beings; that everyone has electricity and clean drinking
water; that everyone has enough food to eat and an education and health care.
But sadly that is not the truth.
!
However, just because that is currently not everyone’s reality, doesn’t mean
it can’t be. If we, the people of this world, worked together to share our
limited amount of resources, wouldn’t that bring more peace? There would be
less fighting over who has more and who has less if we all had our basic
needs met.
!
Ever heard the saying, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”? It is
the most powerful statement in this day and age to create movement. If we all
work together we can make a world where everyone has all their basic
necessities met. If we all share a little more and love a little more, think of
what an even more beautiful place this world could become.
