WE-BE MAGAZINE Summer 2013 | Page 26

We-Be: When did the band start? SC: All of us have been playing instruments from a young age, and as brothers have been playing together for years. Our first big step was our first tour in 2010. We wrote out our songs, practiced them to perfection, and did the recording for our first album in two days! We-Be: Where do you see your musical career going? SC: We aim for huge shows, the classic dreams of a musician, but we are taking it one step at a time. At the moment we play for 60,000 kids a year at schools, and we are running band camps during the summer as well as performing at gigs. We-Be: What is your targeted audience? SC: We aim for an audience of 8-85; we really don’t have one specific age group. We-Be: Is all your music original or do you do covers? SC: We do both. It is vital to learn covers because everyone knows the songs; we sometimes take songs and twist them like we did with Nirvana’s song, Breathe. We also write a lot of our own music. We-Be: As touring artists is it hard to be away from family? G: Yes, I have a 9-year-old daughter so it is hard to be far away for a long period of time. J: Yeah, I have to find a balance of both worlds. I: I love it! Music is my life. We-Be: How is it living on the road with each other for long periods of time? SC: It was really hard at first, but it’s pretty easy now. We eat, we sleep, we go to the gym, and we play music- we all know what ‘buttons not to press’ so we can get along.
