Welcome to the Champion of Youth Gala 2017!
irst of all, THANK YOU for making time to join us
for what we hope will be an unforgettable evening. In
our opinion, it doesn’t get better than a Southern Cal-
ifornia sunset in late September. We hope the setting
inspires you as much as it does us. Each year, as we
plan tirelessly with our gala committee, we think about
you, our treasured guests and donors. We ask ourselves:
what will excite you about the Club, how can we tell
our story, what will inspire you about the mission we are on,
and the list goes on.
Tonight our story will be told through the honoring of
an important person to our organization as well as a key
corporate partner. Both Michael Moskowitz and the Capi-
tal Group have much in common: a servant’s heart, humility,
and generosity beyond measure. Their contributions to our
Club are innumerable and tonight we are so happy to have
the opportunity to formally thank them. We also are de-
lighted to have many of our kids here who will share with
you their stories, talents, and newfound hobbies. The gala is
a true celebration of all the wonderful things percolating at
the Club, and we’re so glad you’re here.
Before you turn the page or the program begins, we
hope you read this note and remember the mission we are
on: To enable young people, especially those who need
us most, to reach their full potential. The generation of
children that we serve are the future leaders in our commu-
nities, the future teachers and engineers, and the future par-
ents of yet another generation. Each life we touch is one
that is forever changed. You are a part of this movement.
Thank you in advance for all you have done and continue
to do to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice!
