Last month, investors reported that they had spent the first half of 2015 feeling
“more confident than ever.” This month, however, while overall confidence
numbers are still very good (think 90 or more out of 100 by most measures), a
few things have changed:
The biggest warning signs are coming in MULTIFAMILY HOUSING.
What’s the problem? Wall Street is getting spooked, and even real estate
investors tend to have a “herd mentality” when it comes to Wall St.
Worries about interest rates rising, labor shortages affecting new building,
the global economy, and general concern about the multifamily market
have Wall St. investors pulling money out of real-estate related
investments, particularly those related to multifamily housing.
You might think that this has nothing to do with you, but this decline in
confidence, however small, can affect local market behavior.
