A REASON TO SLOW DOWN I don ’ t know about you , but when I ’ m in a theme park , I want to move as fast as I can to cram in as much as humanly possible . I love Magellan ’ s because it forces me to slow down and appreciate what ’ s right in front of me .
The aesthetic inside takes you back to a time of adventure and exploration . Look up : The massive dome and globe centerpiece depict famous expeditions from the past . Throughout the restaurant , you can spot ship replicas , tapestries , paintings , and stunning architecture . You ’ ll find yourself taking photos of everything .
FOOD AND DRINK AT MAGELLAN ’ S But the real reason to explore Magellan ’ s ? The food .
Magellan ’ s offers a three-course meal , and it ’ s not cheap at about 4,600 yen ( or USD $ 44.00 ) per person for lunch . The course meal takes about 90 minutes and includes an appetizer , entrée , dessert , drink , and unlimited bread . The rice bread alone is reason enough to dine here ( as a bonus , it also has a Mickey on it to remind you you ’ re still in a Disney Park ).
For your meal , you ’ ll select from different entrées and appetizers . My recommended appetizer is the hors d ’ oeuvre that typically comes with meats , veggies , and seafood ; this changes regularly . Some popular entrées include pork , seafood , beef tongue , or a domestic beef filet .
And for drinks ? Magellan ’ s offers a vast selection of wine . If you get overwhelmed easily , like me , then go for the “ Magellan ’ s Recommended Wine ”; you ’ ll just have to choose between red and white .
MY RECOMMENDATIONS My personal favorites are the beef tongue with red wine sauce and the crème brûlée . Seriously , don ’ t skip out on the crème brûlée .
Another thing you can ’ t miss is the seasonal drink , which changes every few months . You get to keep the collectible glass , and it is one of the few items at Tokyo DisneySea that has the S . E . A . logo on it . The best part : You ’ ll drink out of the collectible glass during your meal , but the Cast Members give you a brand new glass in a gorgeous box .
Always check for the seasonal course menu , which changes every few months . During the Tokyo DisneySea 20th anniversary celebrations ( September 2021 through September 2022 ), Magellan ’ s is offering a special course menu exclusive to the event .
Dining at Magellan ’ s is an experience you don ’ t want to rush through . I recommend doing this on one of your last days at the park or for a special occasion .
For an additional fee , you can take home a souvenir glass from the restaurant . PHOTO BY TDR EXPLORER
