If you thought the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was the only way for your little scallywag to indulge his inner Captain Jack , think again . There ’ s enough piratethemed fun at WDW for a whole day of high-seas adventure .
REST YER HEAD Start and end your day in a pirate room at the Caribbean Beach Resort ( CBR ). A friend and I stayed in one of these , thanks to a booking error ( just two grown women , no kids , and yes , we felt slightly ridiculous ), and I can confidently say that you ’ d be hard-pressed to find a more pirate-y experience anywhere this side of Tortuga .
The rooms have treasurechest storage , a fridge in a barrel , and a treasure map rug . The divider curtain has a giant skull and Captain Jack in the wall art . But the best part has to be the pirate ship beds . They ’ re wooden with rope-ladder headboards and so high up that even adults have to climb up to get in them .
WALK THE PLANK The Fuentes del Morro pool at CBR looks like the town on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride — except the pool has slides , cannons , and a splash pad with a pirate ship .
Watch out for the barrel . This one doesn ’ t contain a fridge ( thankfully ), but it will dump quite a few gallons of water on your swashbuckler ’ s head .
EAT YER GRUB Dock at Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland for a giant
