“ We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains . We need to paint with all the colors of the wind .”
One of my very favorite
songs , Disney or otherwise , is “ Colors of the Wind .” It ’ s a beautiful ballad about tolerance and diversity , which certainly strikes a chord in this day and age . As we head into the Thanksgiving and holiday season , I thought taking a cue from the animated classic , Pocahontas , would fit the bill and make a nice analogy to write about how one of our most famous Imagineers “ painted with all the colors of the wind .”
Color has always been an important part of how we tell our stories in the theme parks . Many of Walt ’ s first Imagineers came from his animation

No detail is too small to be considered , like the color of the pavement , tinted red to make the greenery really pop . PHOTO BY LAURIE SAPP
