to a Pixar film . That credit goes to Michael Giacchino , who is outdone only by Randy when it comes to Pixar soundtrack credits . Giacchino also lent his talents to the music of Ratatouille , UP , Cars 2 , Inside Out , Coco , and The Incredibles 2 .
All told , Giacchino and the Newmans are responsible for 19 of 25 Pixar film soundtracks . Of those remaining six , two had soundtracks written by composition duo and brothers Jeff and Mychael Danna ( The Good Dinosaur and Onward ). During the red carpet event , Aly got to wave hello to director Domee Shi — the first woman to solo-direct a Pixar film . Shi was accompanied by actresses Rosalie Chiang ( Meilin ), Sandra Oh ( Ming ), and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan ( Priya ), with whom Aly got to bond over their shared home town of Mississauga , Canada .
