A DELIGHT IN THE NIGHT Who wouldn ’ t want to go for a spin with Joy and the gang at Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind ? The name is actually more dramatic than the ride itself , as this is a gentle “ balloon ” ride , with some charming work from the film ’ s voice cast , providing a circular tour around Headquarters . The lights make all of Pixar Pier stunning at nighttime , but Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind ’ s theming is absolutely wonderful in the dark , making the attraction a magical moment for fans of the film .
Of course , kids of all ages will want to soar into the sky far above Pixar Pier onboard the Pixar Pal Around , a 150-foot Ferris wheel that opened with the park as the Sun Wheel before acquiring its
signature Mickey Mouse and the name Mickey ’ s Fun Wheel in 2009 . When the area was reimagined , Mickey remained , but the gondolas themselves were rethemed with Pixar favorites from Coco , The Incredibles , Toy Story , Inside Out , and more .
Oh , and those gondolas ? Know what you ’ re getting into before riding . This is one of only two Ferris wheels in the US to include both fixed and sliding gondolas . The eight fixed gondolas provide spectacular views as the wheel turns high above Pixar Pier in a gentle , stately orbit . The other 16 , however , swing and sway back and forth on interior rails for what Disney assures is an “ extra thrilling experience .” Guests can choose which experience they wish to enjoy when they enter the queue .
