Contemporary Café merged with the Coconino Cove — a nice lounge added to the south area of the concourse in 1973 , near where the Monorail enters from Magic Kingdom — and became the home of Chef Mickey ’ s .
The Top of the World Supper Club , the crème de la crème of restaurants , had an incredible view of Bay Lake on one side and Magic Kingdom on the other and featured guest entertainers on a rotating basis . The draw of performers fizzled out by the late ’ 80s , so a Broadway-style show became the new entertainment . Then , in 1995 , California Grill took its place as one of the most popular restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort today .
Still existing today as a lounge , Outer Rim was once a steakhouse .
Monorail Club Car , a very popular bar in its time , was located near the escalator . In 1987 , it was turned into Bayview Gifts , which you can still visit today .
