DANNY SAYS : If I could ride Pirates of the Caribbean all day long , is it safe to say that a pirate ’ s life for me ? When it comes to classic Disney attractions , there are none more iconic , popular , and embedded in Disney history than Pirates of the Caribbean .
QUEUE : Despite its outstanding level of detail and jazzy music loop , there ’ s nothing more important to the atmosphere of this queue than the incredible scent of the attraction ’ s water ( if you know , you know !).
STORY : We follow a group of pirates in the 17th to 18th century as they get in all kinds of trouble . Since 2006 , familiar faces from the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise have joined the crew .
LOCATION : Adventureland in Magic Kingdom . LENGTH : 8 minutes and 30 seconds .
DETAIL : In the FastPass + queue , you can find a chess scene that ’ s set up at an eternal stalemate .
MUSIC & SOUNDS : The low tones heard in the queue build your anticipation for the attraction ’ s signature song that plays during the ride : “ Yo Ho ( A Pirate ’ s Life for
Me ).”
UNIQUE FEATURE : Pirates of the Caribbean features one main drop — this was done to lower guests underneath the WDW Railroad tracks overhead .
FUN FACT : Paul Frees , the voice of the Haunted
Mansion ’ s Ghost Host , also lends his voice to this attraction . While you can no longer hear him as the auctioneer , you can still hear Frees saying one of the attraction ’ s most recognizable phrases : “ Dead men tell no tales .”
KAT SAYS : As you board a Jungle Cruise canopied riverboat , “ watch your head , and if you don ’ t , watch your language .” While Walt ’ s vision for this attraction didn ’ t include the fun puns we enjoy today , Jungle Cruise inspired the notion that his theme parks would never be complete , but instead always improving .
QUEUE : Keen eyes will spot some humorous details relating to the life and times of the skippers of the Jungle Navigation Company — but careful , you might just experience a jump scare . Hint : Keep an eye on the tarantula !
STORY : Set in a Depression-era outpost on the Amazon River , guests embarking on a jungle cruise operated by the fictional Jungle Navigation Company board a riverboat through the not-so-dangerous rivers of Asia , Africa , and South America .
LOCATION : Adventureland in Magic Kingdom . LENGTH : A 10-minute , 10,000-mile journey .
DETAIL : While in the queue , listen to the radio broadcast of Albert Awol . In between the 1930s music , he provides weather warnings , port updates , and skipper communications .
MUSIC & SOUNDS : Live Cast Member skippers narrate and humor guests with their loosely scripted , heavily adlibbed banter full of jokes , puns , and mild scare tactics .
UNIQUE FEATURE : The Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise for the Christmas holiday with a fun and festive overlay .
FUN FACT : Two dining locations were inspired by the Jungle Cruise attraction at Walt Disney World : Jungle Navigation Co . LTD Skipper Canteen in the Magic Kingdom and Trader Sam ’ s Grog Grotto at Disney ’ s
Polynesian Village Resort .
