and wellexecuted — if this is your first time , you can feel confident diving in .
Along with the oysters , we ordered the Coconut-fried Shrimp ( served with orange-chili sauce and fresh-cut fries ) from the menu ’ s Dockside Buckets . Not actually served in a bucket , these shrimp were plump and fried to golden perfection . The orange-chili sauce didn ’ t have much chili kick , but the sweet citrus flavor paired well with the crispy shrimp . If you enjoy coconut shrimp , they do an excellent rendition here .
THE MAIN COURSE We enjoyed a selection of smaller entrees because we were saving room for dessert ( more on that later ), including the kid ’ s portion of Chicken Tenders , which comes served in an adorable cardboard Amphicar . The presentation is great , and this will satisfy a picky appetite , but there ’ s not much remarkable to say about this dish . Next up were the Dockside Classic Grilled Mahi Tacos ( shaved cabbage , salsa roja , Mexican crema ). The grilled mahi has a bit of a kick , seasoned with a spice rub that reminded me of blackened , cajun spice . It ’ s not going to set your mouth on fire , but there is some heat . The crema is a nice counterpoint to the spice , and crunchy cabbage gives good textural balance to the dish . This was enjoyed by the table but wholly overshadowed by the next entree , the Filet Mignon Sliders ( two sliders with maitre d ’ butter served with fresh-cut fries ).
These two sliders were little bundles of buttery perfection . People often describe good steak as “ buttery ” or “ melt-in-your-mouth ,” but these sliders really earned those titles . The pillowy soft buns give way to equally tender , juicy cuts of filet . The flavoring is
