THE TALLEST AND FASTEST AT WDW
WDW may not hold records for the world ’ s tallest drop tower or fastest coaster , but each park does have something for thrill-seekers .
MAGIC KINGDOM
• Tallest : Cinderella Castle at 189 feet
• Fastest : Splash Mountain at 40 mph
• Fun fact : Cinderella Castle may be the tallest structure in Magic Kingdom , but if you ’ re looking to conquer your fear of heights in a more thrilling way , check out Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 105 feet tall ( 197 feet to the peak ).
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
• Tallest : Tower of Terror at 199 feet
• Fastest : Rock ‘ n ’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at 57 mph
• Fun fact : The monorail hits a top speed of 55 mph — faster than Slinky Dog Dash at 40 mph .
EPCOT
• Tallest : Spaceship Earth at 180 feet
• Fastest : Test Track at 65 mph
• Fun fact : The Icon Tower , erected in 1999 and then taken down in 2007 , welcomed guests into EPCOT from 257 feet above ground .
ANIMAL KINGDOM
• Tallest : Expedition Everest at 199 feet
• Fastest : Expedition Everest at 50 mph
• Fun fact : The fastest animal in Animal Kingdom is the cheetah , which tops out at 70 mph . See if you can spot one on Kilimanjaro Safaris .
BONUS FACT : Wondering why Disney capped Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror at 199 feet ? The Federal Aviation Administration requires all structures exceeding 200 feet above ground level to include obnoxious tower lights , which could easily take guests out of the immersive Disney experience .
