DANNY SAYS : Of course , Soarin ’ Around the World is a stunning , must-do attraction … But , how can you go against the single fastest attraction at WDW , Test Track ?
QUEUE : Complete with sleek gray tones and neon blue lighting , the queue is a showcase of vehicles of the future . However , the most exciting and engaging part is the Chevrolet Design Studio ( not currently operating due to COVID-19 ).
STORY : Guests create their Chevrolet custom concept vehicle in the Chevrolet Design Studio and literally put it to the test throughout Test Track .
LOCATION : Future World , EPCOT . LENGTH : Approximately 5 minutes .
DETAIL : The cars guests design undergo the following tests : capability , efficiency , responsiveness , and power .
MUSIC & SOUNDS : You ’ ll hear futuristic instrumental tunes throughout the queue , followed by equally futuristic sound effects during the attraction . You can find the queue ’ s primary score on the Walt Disney World Official Album , composed by Paul Leonard-
Morgan .
UNIQUE FEATURE : Test Track can easily satisfy your need for speed given its 65-mph final turn . As you ’ re nearing the attraction , it ’ s pretty hard not to hear the SIM Cars passing by — as well as screaming riders .
FUN FACT : If you enjoyed Test Track ’ s predecessor , World of Motion , you ’ d be happy to note that you can spot its logo on much of Test Track ’ s signage inside the queue and loading / unloading area . Take special notice of the trash cans and directional signs to spot some of the most conspicuous placements of the logo .
KAT SAYS : With the help of a 180-degree , 80-foot IMAX digital projection dome , guests fly and soar over some of the most wondrous destinations in all the world , no passport required .
QUEUE : Extra large to accommodate the popularity of this attraction , the queue simulates an airplane hanger . While in line , guests are encouraged to play the Soarin ’ Challenge game on the Play Disney Parks app . But the real gem is the pre-show safety check movie with your ( beloved ) chief flight attendant , Patrick .
STORY : Guests strap into the best seat in the house for a virtual flight that soars high above ( and sometimes down into ) 13 locations around the globe .
LOCATION : The Land Pavilion , EPCOT . LENGTH : About 5 minutes .
DETAIL : Guests enjoy aerial views and thrilling sensations as they visit the Great Wall of China , the Taj Mahal , the Great Pyramids of Egypt , the Eiffel Tower , and more .
MUSIC & SOUNDS : The score for the original version , “ Soarin ’ Over California ,” was so well-loved , the new music has been adapted from it . And while it has its own signature “ worldly ” sound , it is undeniably Soarin ’.
UNIQUE FEATURE : In addition to the incredible sights and real-life flight simulation , there are three distinct scents featured in Soarin ’ Around the World . You ’ ll have to ride to find out what they are !
FUN FACT : Every guest who takes a flight on Soarin ’ is assigned to flight number 5505 . It represents the day the attraction opened in EPCOT : May 5 , 2005 .
