Competitive Attractions BY MARIA SALERNO As Walt Disney World moves through the phased reopening , some of our favorites on this list may not be currently available .

Tomorrowland Speedway
Tomorrowland is the place to get in the competitive spirit at Magic Kingdom , boasting two attractions with scoring elements . For this month ’ s Top 5 , let ’ s rev our engines and start things off at the Tomorrowland Speedway . Gear up for a friendly spin around the track that features tight turns and fast straightaways . What I love most about this attraction is that no matter your age or skill set , the playing field is completely even . With steering wheels that aren ’ t always the most accurate and varying speeds of the cars themselves , it ’ s anyone ’ s race on the Tomorrowland Speedway .
Buzz Lightyear ’ s Space Ranger Spin
Keeping it right here in Tomorrowland , let ’ s fly over to another scoring attraction that scores points on our list : Buzz Lightyear ’ s Space Ranger Spin . This time , we ’ re competing to be the best space ranger in the galaxy . With a blaster in hand , firing at the moving targets may seem easy , but did you know that not all targets are created equal in Space Ranger Spin ? That ’ s right : While you may be trailing by thousands of points , an unexpected high-scoring blast in the final room just may help you beat out the competition .
Test Track
When I was growing up , the only reason for riding Test Track at EPCOT was to feel the rush of traveling at what felt like light speed . When Chevy stepped in and sponsored the attraction , the entire “ game ” changed . Now , Test Track is an attraction and a competition . Before you board , you can create your own virtual car to digitally “ test ” while in your six-person SIM Car ride vehicle . Each guest ’ s design is scored on capability , efficiency , responsiveness , and power . If you want your design to reign supreme , build it with these four main tests in mind .
Millennium Falcon : Smuggler ’ s Run
We ’ re traveling to the planet of Batuu for our # 2 scoring attraction . It not only grants die-hard Star Wars fans like myself access to the cockpit of the famed Millennium Falcon ( eek !), but it also encourages teamwork and a bit of competition . Unlike the other attractions on our list that require head-to-head square-offs , you have to work together as a team to collect precious containers of coaxium . Your team pilots , guns , and engineers the Millenium Falcon as you fend off any unwanted gunfire . The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy is all yours .
Toy Story Mania !
Earning the # 1 spot on our list is the first screen-based , 4D scoring attraction of its kind that quickly won the hearts of Disney fans , not only for the interactive ride element but also because it featured everyone ’ s favorite toys from Andy ’ s sacred toy chest . The attraction itself invites guests to shoot , toss , and smash their way to victory through six different minigames packed with unexpected 4D surprises . My arm definitely gets tired by the end , but try to save up some strength for the final speed shoot to earn the top score .
