was fortunate to be invited , along with my lovely wife and WDW Magazine CEO Stephanie Shuster , to a media showcase highlighting some of the incredible magic that Disney has planned throughout the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration . During our trip , we learned about new experiences coming to WDW like Galactic Starcruiser , saw some of the details that will make the Disney Wish so special , and even got a secret walking tour onto the construction site of Guardians of the Galaxy : Cosmic Rewind .
As your regular restaurant columnist , a real highlight of this trip was the food and beverage seminar . I talked with Disney chefs and Cast Members about the fantastic dishes right now at WDW .
WDW ’ s actual anniversary date ( Oct . 1 , 2021 ) has come and gone , but the Most Magical Celebration is far from over . Disney is keeping this party going for 18 months . We ’ ve only just scratched the surface of all the fun and magic that ’ s in store for this remarkable celebration , and like any good party , we know there ’ s going to be lots of food and drink to enjoy .
SENSATIONAL SIPS The 50th celebration has permeated all aspects of WDW , right down to your refillable resort mug . Disney launched all-new designs to highlight the resorts and your favorite Disney characters . The waterparks have also joined in with refillable cups in cool new designs that

feature a built-in straw .
If you ’ re looking for something a little more magical to slay your thirst , then the new 50th Anniversary Sip-a-bration is just the ticket . What looks like a simple lemonade ( in a commemorative cup ) comes garnished with a randomly selected Disney character ( Mickey , Minnie , Donald , or Pluto ; sorry , Goofy fans ). Drop your brightly colored character into the glass , give it a little swirl , and before you can say bibbidi bobbidi boo , your drink will transform into a vibrant and shimmering new beverage .
What was once regular lemonade is now a non-alcoholic fruit punch and lemonade hybrid complete with a fun new color ( matching the color of your character ) and magical swirling glitter . I love the transformation that happens right before
