My favorite dessert , however , was the Pressed Penny Silk Pie ( chocolate tart shell , silky chocolate filling , sweet whipped cream , and a chocolate-pressed penny ). There are three reasons I love this dessert : First , while talking to the Disney Cast Members , I learned that silk pie was a favorite of Walt himself . Second , the chocolate garnish pays homage to the pressed pennies , one of the most beloved souvenirs of any Disney trip . Third , it ’ s simply delicious . The luscious chocolate filling can only be described as silky ; it really does earn the name . The dessert is very chocolate-forward without being too sugary and is a great blend of crispy tart shell and silky , smooth chocolate filling . Find this dessert at Casey ’ s Corner , and while you ’ re there , pick up
a chili cheese dog as well ; according to the Cast Members we talked to , Walt loved chili .
KEEP THE PARTY GOING Turning 50 is a momentous occasion for WDW , and there is a palpable energy and excitement in the parks about My top pick is definitely the Pressed Penny Silk Pie . it . You will find Find it at Casey ' s Corner . PHOTO BY DANNY SHUSTER special food and beverage items throughout the property from carts and kiosks to Quick-Service and Table-Service restaurants as well as bars and lounges — basically anywhere that serves food . Look for the menu items with the little 50th designation and make your food part of the celebration . It ’ s not clear which , if any , of these items will stick around once the party is over , so enjoy them while you can . A lot of care and thought has gone into creating incredible visual appeal and fantastic flavors .

With the Most Magical Celebration in full swing , of course you can find 50th anniversary-themed popcorn buckets and sippers ! Look for this EARidescent Mickey Balloon popcorn buckets at popcorn kiosks throughout Magic Kingdom . These buckets come in blue , green , pink , and gold . But don ' t miss the Mickey popcorn bucket and Minnie sipper collectibles on your trip . Both are dressed in their EARidescent costumes and have a 50th anniversary lanyard . You can grab the Mickey popcorn bucket in any of the four parks , but you ' ll have to head to Cosmic Ray ' s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland to get the elusive Minnie sipper .
