Ambassador program ) calls her “ perhaps the best Disneyland Ambassador ever .”
Julie Reihm ’ s contribution to the Disney Ambassador program is so great that it earned her another title in 2015 : Disney Legend . Upon accepting the honor , Reihm told Disney Parks Blog :
“ My purpose was to share the joy , hope , and happiness of Disneyland to communities around the world . Those unforgettable experiences have continued to influence my life and career . For decades , Disneyland has been the pixie dust of my life . I consider Disneyland and all of its wonder to be home .”
HOW THE DISNEY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM HAS GROWN AND EVOLVED Julie Reihm was an ideal model for everything a Disney Ambassador should be . Over the years , Disney has built upon that sterling example , creating a program that rewards the best and brightest Disney Cast Members from around the globe .
As a Disney Ambassador , you ’ re representing thousands of Cast Members — not just at your home Disney
Park or Resort , but also around the world . You ’ ll be a public face for the company , making media appearances , cutting ribbons , and meeting guests with a smile . Because being a Disney Ambassador is very much a job , it functions like one in terms of qualifications and responsibilities . Naturally , you have to be an employee at a Disney Park or Resort to be considered for the role , and each Disney Park and Resort has different standards for minimum tenure . Each Ambassador serves in the role for two years .
There ’ s a rigorous application process , which includes rounds of interviews as well as tests on things like company history , policies , and even songs . Because if you ’ re going to be an Ambassador for the brand , you ’ ve got to be knowledgeable in all things Disney .
And you can bet that you ’ re going to be up against a lot of competition because becoming a Disney Ambassador is one of the most desirable gigs around . Ali Manion and Raevon Redding , our 2022-23 WDW Ambassadors , had to shine brightest in a field including more than 800 applicants . That ’ s no small feat , and it speaks to their qualifications for the role .
If you overcome it all and become a Disney Ambassador , it won ’ t be a cakewalk . Caitlin Busscher , a WDW Ambassador from 2015-16 , wrote in her blog that her time on the job was “ exhausting , but super rewarding .” You can expect a lot of early and late hours , long days , working weekends , and varying responsibilities both public-facing and administrative .
Busscher wrote that connecting with guests at Disney Parks and Resorts is one of the most important parts of the role . “ Without guests who are passionate about the Disney product and Cast Members who bring the magic to life , the Ambassadors would have nothing to represent .”
Because there is so much passion between guests and Cast Members , there is much for Disney Ambassadors to represent . That ’ s why the program now includes designated Ambassadors not just for Walt Disney World and Disneyland , but for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort , Disneyland Paris , Tokyo Disney Resort , and Aulani , A Disney Resort & Spa .
In the last year , several new faces have become part of a long line of Disney Ambassadors . Joining WDW ’ s Manion and Redding are Disneyland ’ s Mark Everett King Jr . and Nataly Guzman , Hong Kong Disneyland Resort ’ s Lily Chan and Tony Dick , Disneyland Paris ’ Carmen Lleo Badal and Quentin Rodrigues , Tokyo Disney Resort ’ s Mika Ogasawara , and Aulani ’ s Kanoa Kawai .
If you ’ re a Disney Cast Member , you can look to these Ambassadors as shining examples of everything that ’ s so great about Disney Parks and Resorts . And if you think you ’ re up for the challenge , you can follow their leads and apply for your chance to become an Ambassador in two years ’ time .
