WAYS TO THANK A CAST MEMBER
BY MARIA SALERNO Want to thank a Cast Member for all the magic they create ? Here are five Disney-approved ways to show gratitude .
Email Guest Relations
Cast Members are the heart of WDW Resort . When a CM makes your son ’ s day with a roll of Mickey stickers or engages your daughter in conversation about her favorite princess , one of the easiest ways to show appreciation is to send an email to Guest Relations at Guest . Services @ DisneyWorld . com . Just be sure to note the Cast Member ’ s name when the magic happens so that you can give them kudos . Include “ Cast Compliment ” and the Cast Member ’ s name in the subject to ensure your email will be properly passed along .
Tweet @ WDWGuestServices
Tweeting your Cast Compliments takes the digital thank-you game to a whole new level . By Tweeting your thank-you message @ WDWGuestServices , you ’ re not only ensuring that particular CM ’ s recognition , but you ’ re also sharing that wonderful compliment with all of your Twitter followers . Plus , Twitter is inherently interactive , which allows for a natural conversation . I ’ ve personally engaged with the @ WDWGuestServices team on numerous occasions to show just how much I ’ ve appreciated a CM taking the time to make my day just a little bit more special , and getting a Tweet back from the account is the most gratifying feeling !
Mobile Cast Compliment
The My Disney Experience app rolled out a slew of brand-new features that coincided with WDW ’ s 50th Anniversary Celebration . Here you ’ ll access your resort reservation and utilize Genie + and Lightning Lane services . When a Cast Member makes an extra bit of magic for you while you ’ re out in the parks , you can open the 50th Anniversary Guide on the My Disney Experience app and scroll down . Since the app is where your vacation plans live , you likely already have it open . You ’ ll find a gold button that reads “ Send Cast Compliment .” Always make sure to include the CM ’ s name in your message .
Visit A Guest Relations Location
Sending an email or Tweet is an awesome way to say thanks , but visiting a physical Guest Relations location tops sending a digital message any day . Let the Guest Relations CM know where in the resort you had your awesome interaction and with whom . This way , the Guest Relations CM will know whom to properly thank ! You ’ re likely going to make two Cast Members happy by dropping by Guest Relations ; just hearing about your fantastic interaction will likely bring a proud smile to their face too !
Say “ Thank You ”
Cast Members have some of the toughest customer service jobs out there . Their days can quickly range from helping a happy couple find the nearest popcorn stand to dealing with an angry guest who is upset about a long attraction wait time . They have to navigate that tricky gauntlet of emotions the entire day . By far , the best way to thank a Cast Member for sharing a helpful bit of advice , pointing you in the right direction , or simply welcoming you home … is to say “ thank you .” The effortless act of looking a CM in the eye and verbally thanking them cannot be matched . You never know — by simply saying “ thank you ,” you just might make a Cast Member ’ s day a touch more magical too !
