Don ’ t miss the slide at the Doubloon Lagoon Pool . It is a giant tongue belonging to a colorful serpent named Scales . Legend has it that when parents wanted to keep their children safe from the waters of the nearby bayou , they created this serpent to scare the children away . The serpent became part of the Mardi Gras parade to warn children of the bayou hazards . Eventually , the serpent took up residence at Doubloon Lagoon .
No need to worry about Scales during your visit . King Neptune has him under control , so you and the kids can safely take part in the Mardi Gras Pool Party throughout the week .
