Quick-Service Desserts In World Showcase BY MARIA SALERNO As Walt Disney World moves through the phased reopening , some of our favorites on this list may not be currently available .

Artisanal Cotton Candy

When the mid-afternoon sugar crash starts to set in , make your way to China for an extraordinary cotton candy experience at House of Good Fortune . The cotton candy sculptures here are made to order by a sugar artist right before your eyes . The pillowy , colorful , and delicious custom-made cotton candy creations are crafted in the likeness of gorgeous hearts and blooming flowers . They are almost too pretty to eat . Almost ! Trust me . This cotton candy can ’ t be any fresher . This is the soft and airy texture you can only get from freshly pulled sugar — makes for a perfect bite .

Gelato Macarons

I am an ice cream girl through and through . I ’ ve tried practically every ice cream treat on Disney Property , so for any frozen treat to make this list , it really has to be top-notch . Let ’ s get one thing straight : L ’ Artisan des Glaces makes the absolute best gelato in EPCOT . It ’ s good on its own , but sandwich a scoop of their ice cream between two traditional French macaron shells , and you have a dessert worthy of the # 4 spot on our list . The dessert shop makes the macaron shells each morning , so I recommend grabbing a gelato macaron in the early afternoon when they are super fresh .

Maple Popcorn

Sweet and salty = the perfect combination . I have just the treat if you ’ re looking to add a little crunchy sweetness to your World Showcase travels . The Maple Popcorn from the Canada Pavilion combines the two flavor profiles into one satisfying , shareable , poppable snack , and the result is exemplary . Freshly popped and salted , this popcorn is drizzled and tossed in a sweet , candylike maple syrup coating that pairs perfectly with a coffee or lager . I first experienced the Maple Popcorn perfection as a part of a festival dish last year , and it has become a staple in my EPCOT World Showcase travels .

Churros

La Cantina de San Angel ’ s waterfront view alone is a good enough reason to visit , but add an order of their churros , and you ’ ve got a match made in Disney Parks heaven . These mini , cinnamon-y churro bites are the best on property , hands down . Maybe it is because they are made to order and come with a side of chocolate hazelnut spread for an extra boost of flavor . Or it might be because they are fried to perfection so that every mini churro bite has that signature crunch on the outside and a hot , chewy , perfectly spiced center .

Norwegian School Bread

Coming in at the # 1 spot is the Norwegian School Bread from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe . It has been around for decades — and for good reason . The now-classic combination of soft sweet bread and gooey custard is a great dessert for someone who doesn ’ t like overly sweet things . The soft pillowy bun itself isn ’ t sweet at all , and for that reason , the first bite is usually my favorite . Make your way to the center , and the custard provides sweet flavor and creamy texture that classifies the school bread in the dessert category . The school bread is the perfect breakfast item that will put any filled donut to shame .
