In 2011, Disney not only released the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon
commemorative Vinylmations, they introduced a new Disneyland Half Marathon
Vinylmation as well. Once again, they all featured a place to add a time. The Disneyland
Half Marathon featured a translucent design with the runners time, while the WDW
runDisney Vinylmations featured Donald and Mickey with a golden head, resembling the
completion medals.
In 2012, we saw a return of the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon
Vinylmations, but the Disneyland Half Marathon Vinlymation was dropped permanently.
In 2013, collectors could get excited about the release of the new runDisney Eachez
Vinylmations, even though they stopped production of the different runDisney
Vinylmations specific to each event. The Eachez line consisted of “blind” boxes (aka: you
couldn’t see the Vinylmation inside, which could contain either a “common” or
“chaser/variant” Vinylmation—the intrigue makes them hard to pass up!), which actually
brought in many collectors who didn’t even participate in the races.
The “common” Vinylmation is inserted at a rate of 9/10, while the “chaser/variant”
Vinylmation is inserted at a rate of 1/10. With such low odds, the “chaser/variant”
Vinylmation became highly sought after. The Eachez releases have been released each year
since 2013 and it looks like Disney will be releasing another set in 2017.
