Walt Disney World fans often abbreviate parks, resorts and attractions into 2 or 3 letter
acronyms. Most of us can figure out what DTD, GF and 7DMT all stand for. But did you
know Cast Members also have code words for different situations? Next time you’re at
WDW, keep your ears open for these phrases, and you’ll be “in the know” of what’s
going on!
Code 101: “We have a Code 101” is typically relayed to a Cast Member’s manager
when an attraction breaks down. It’s actually a phrase that is more accepted by
guests than if they were to hear “Space Mountain is broken down!” Cast Members
are trained to tell guests that an attraction is “temporarily unavailable” if it’s in a 101
state.
Code 102: When a ride is fully functional and has re-opened, it’s known as 102!
