WDW Magazine December 2014 - Crowds at WDW | Page 75

Photo by Laurie Sapp Just like the parks, the WDW resort hotels don’t skim on the details! Check out checkered concrete at the Rock ‘ n Roll building at All-Star Music Resort, bones in the pavement near the 101 Dalmatians Building at All-Stat Movies Resort, or Twister boards on the ground at Pop Century Resort. Natural textures in the concrete at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge evoke rock work, and Port Orleans French Quarter has perfectly replicated miniature streets complete with cobbles and curbs. With the Disney Springs Renovations, I’m looking forward to seeing how the concrete in the new Town Center and The Landing complement those styles used in the West Side and the Marketplace currently! So next time you visit WDW, take a few minutes to notice what’s underfoot – it may surprise you to see that the details at Disney go all the way from the spires on top of Cinderella Castle to the concrete on the ground!
