Photo by Brett Svenson Brenda & Ken It all began a few days ago when we tried to get some reservations for the Ohana restaurant and was unable to do so. Yes, we were disappointed that we could not get any reservations. I decided to give it a try and call again and see if I could have any luck, to my surprise we got in. Arriving at the Ohana we were seated right up front, I made the comment to my partner that we were seated in the area where they were going to pick on us to participate, well to my delight it seemed that the only one going up to participate were the kids, Yeah, I would rather just sit and watch. I was wrong, next thing I know I was being told that I was going to be the band for the next performance and was handed the Hawaiian guitar. I must have had this look of horror on my face because this is when Brenda enters the story. She approached me and put her hand on my shoulder, I stated that I don't know how to play and with a big smile she said "that's ok, practice". As the kids where learning how to do the Hula, I was practicing while Brenda stood nearby and coached me on. The kids did their thing and I did mine. The whole time Brenda made me feel at ease and just had fun with it. After all was said and done, she gave me a compliment and as well as the crowd did. As I sat and talked with my partner and watched the other cast members interacting with other guests, I could see how Brenda was interacting with guests and the cast... the whole time with a great big smile and I could tell that she was enjoying doing her job. Yet she was making the experience for myself as well as others more enjoyable and that's what Walt would have wanted.
