Magic Kingdom It's A Small World (Full Ride) POV Walt Disney World by iThemePark Video Story It’s a Small World doesn’t have a narrative structure like Disney’s other dark rides – it’s more of a journey around the world through scenes of celebration. Audio animatronic dolls (in traditional outfits for their home country), toys, and animals play, dance, sing, and make music in styles indicative of their home culture. Riders board small boats which are propelled through the ride in a small river of water and pass various scenes along the way. The dark ride is illuminated with lots of colour, sparkles, and fun things to see, and the attractions’ namesake song is sung throughout in languages from around the world. The ride begins in the Hello room, with two dimensional cutouts of children holding a banner announcing the attraction. From there, riders venture through geographic scenes. The Arctic plays host to Scandanavian (Sweden, Norway, Denmark) and Canadian culture (interestingly, Canada is positioned her, instead of in the “North America” area). Europe features English, French Italian, Swiss, Dutch, German, Belgian, Scottish, Irish, and Spanish dolls, then a transition with Russian, Isreali, and Greek Dolls leads to Asia – with dolls representing Thailand, Bali, India, China, Korea and Japan. Africa is next with lots of animals in addition to Egyptian, Tanzanian, Kenyan, Ugandan, an South African dolls, then Latin America featuring Antarctic, Chilean, Brazilian, and Mexican dolls as well as a rainforest scene. The South Pacific is represented with Hawaiian, Australian, and mermaid dolls, then the North America area represents the USA. In the Finale, dolls from throughout the ride appear again together at a carnival, in white versions of their traditional outfits and everyone sings together in English.
