camera hunting for hidden details and took the time to point out some of the ones I missed .
If you look closely , you ’ ll find hidden carvings depicting Te Fiti , Hei Hei , Pua , Maui , Maui ’ s hook , Tomatoa , a manta ray representing Grandma Tala , voyaging canoes , Kakamora , the conch shell that Moana places to mark her contribution to the island in the film , and , of course , Moana . All these details blend seamlessly into the rockwork and are easy to miss if you fly through the attraction .
In contrast to these subtle design elements , you can ’ t help but notice the centerpiece sculpture of Te Fiti near the end of the attraction . Te Fiti stands 16 feet tall in a peaceful pose that evokes a sense of stewardship over the water .
“ Her surrounding atmosphere is organic , natural , but Te Fiti herself is made from artificial foliage . She is made to look everlasting and beautiful ,” Mohamad explained .
