By learning about the beautiful inhabitants , you are also participating in wildlife conservation in its simplest form . When you learn about a species , you can tell others about their habitats and dangers they face . Many animals , including the giraffe , are being poached ; by spreading awareness , you can make a difference .
Did you know a group of giraffes is called a “ tower ”?
In the past , other activities have included learning about flamingo behavior , animal tracking , wildlife games , and even a specialty experience , Jiko – Wanyama Safari . Animal enrichment is especially enjoyable because you get to see how the experts keep animals engaged through interactive objects .
In 2019 , my daughter and I went on the Sense of Africa tour to learn about the care of some of the animals on the savanna . It was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip . We participated in an enrichment activity with the red river hogs , where we learned that the hogs are kept on the first floor in one of the lodge buildings . That ’ s right , the rooms start on the second floor , and there is a service level on the bottom .
Prior to the resort closure last year , many activities allowed guests to explore the nature surrounding the lodge . As activities and events slowly return to Walt Disney World , check with the front desk for a current recreation calendar .
