Kenya the Giraffe Stars are just like us : They get pedicures . On the premiere episode of the series , Kenya the Masai giraffe gets her nails trimmed by a patient animal keeper / giraffe pedicurist . Unlike most human pedicures , it ’ s a far less relaxing experience for the hesitant animal . But it all works out in the end , and we get a peek into the multifaceted world of animal care in the parks . Linus the Mandrill Episode four is all about monkey matchmaking , as Animal Kingdom caretakers figure out how to temper infighting among a group of female mandrills . Keepers introduce a male mandrill named Linus into the mix . Not only do things smooth over for the mighty monkeys , but sparks clearly fly . Linus and the other mandrills can be spotted on Kilimanjaro Safaris in the Serengeti , on the left-hand side of the road , right after the open savanna .
Gus the Hippo Despite their massive , intimidating size ( and reputation as the most dangerous animals in Africa ), hippos are big softies at heart . In the final episode of the series , we see Gus the hippo try to make friends with an older hippo . How well did their platonic courtship go ? See for yourself on Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom , where the bussized mammals bob around in grassy rivers . You can also spot them while strolling along the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail .
Mac the Elephant Another animal who is difficult to miss ? Mac the African elephant is one of the largest animals in Disney World . In episode one of the series , we see Mac facing his dental appointment like the tough trooper he is . Like the giraffes , you can also spot Mac and the other African elephants on the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom .
Santiago and Emmett the Macaws If you ’ ve been to Animal Kingdom , you ’ ve likely witnessed the curiously choreographed flights of lustrous macaws at one point or another . Ever wondered how this happens ? In episode two , we get to meet a couple of adorable feathered trainees , Santiago and Emmett , as they learn the tricks of the Winged Encounters team . Watch them for yourself at Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom , where the whole brood takes flight throughout the day .
